Update: The Third Open Mic NIght event was cancelled due to the floods which plagued Manila during the first week of August. The event has been rescheduled to Friday September 28, 7pm at TIME.

After two successful Open Mic Nights earlier this year and in 2011, IMMAP now announced the third Open Mic Night. This time the event will take place on August 17, 2012, at TIME, Makati Avenue.

After the second Open Mic Night successfully experimented with the ‘Open bowl unconference’ format, the crew are at it again this time and now take the concept one level further even. For the Third Open Mic Night, also the topics can this time be nominated by social media users. In the first week, until Monday August 6, everyone can nominate their favorite topic via the Twitter hashtag #iLivefor or on the Facebook Open Mic Night event page.

After nominations end, the Open Mic Night Committee under the lead of Carlos Palma, will then select the most appropriate, and interesting topics. Once topics have been decided upon, nominations for speakers for the selected topics will be opened up. For every topic five speakers will be selected.
Speakers can be nominated countrywide, it is no obligation for speakers to live in Manila or neighborhood, as the Open Mic Night will do their best to bring in speakers also from other provinces, Carlos Palma told us.
